Anoush der Boghossian was appointed the WTO's first focal point on trade and gender by Director-General Roberto Azevêdo in 2017. Anoush works as part of the Aid for Trade Unit of the WTO's Development Division and is a senior member of the team.

Prior to joining the Development Division in 2016, Ms. der Boghossian worked in the Information and External Relations Division (IERD) of the WTO. She worked as the French Language Spokesperson of the WTO and she was appointed as the press officer to the former Director-General Pascal Lamy. After seven years, she then worked as the WTO NGO Liaison Officer and Social Media Manager. For four years, she was responsible for managing the WTO Public Forum and the Organization's social media operations.

Anoush started working at the WTO in 2006 after acquiring 10 years of professional experience in the private sector, in Brussels, working on EU policies, as a public relations specialist.

Among her educational achievements, she has a Masters in European and International Law and a Masters in communications.

Saniye Gülser Corat is the Director for Gender Equality at UNESCO. She was the pioneer in making gender equality a global priority at UNESCO in 2007. She is a senior executive in international development with over 25 years of field experience in over 30 countries in Asia-Pacific, North and Sub-Saharan Africa, Central and South America, Europe, and North America.

She holds post-graduate degrees from Harvard Kennedy School and Harvard Business School and graduate degrees from the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium; Norman Paterson School of International Affairs and Political Science Department at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada.

Arancha González, an expert in international trade issues with 20 years of experience, serves as Executive Director of the International Trade Centre (ITC), the joint development agency of the United Nations and the World Trade Organisation, since September 2013.

Ms. González, a Spanish national, has extensive knowledge about international trade and economics, coupled with broad experience in trade and development matters in the public and private sectors, as well as in management at multilateral organizations.

Before joining ITC, Ms. González served as Chief of Staff to World Trade Organization Director-General Pascal Lamy from 2005 to 2013. During her tenure at the WTO, she played an active role in launching the Aid for Trade initiative and served as Mr. Lamy’s representative (Sherpa) at the G-20.

Prior to working at the WTO, Ms. González held several positions at the European Commission, conducting negotiations of trade agreements and assisting developing countries in trade-development efforts. Between 2002 and 2004, she was the European Commission spokeswoman for trade and adviser to the European Union Trade Commissioner.

Ms. González began her career in the private sector as an associate in a German law firm advising companies on trade, competition and state-aid matters.

Ms. González holds a degree in law from the University of Navarra and a postgraduate degree in European Law from the University of Carlos III, Madrid.

She co-chairs the World Economic Forum (WEF) Agenda Council on the Future of Trade and Investment.

Besides her native Spanish, she speaks English, French, German and Italian.

H.E. Ms. Sunanta KANGVALKULKIJ is the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to the WTO and WIPO. She is currently the General Council Chairperson (GC) (as of 28th February 2019) as well as the ACG Chair, at the WTO in Geneva Switzerland for the year 2019. Last year, 2018 she was honored to be the Chair of the Dispute Settlement Body at the WTO Geneva, Switzerland.

Prior to this, she has been the Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Commerce’s Department of Trade Negotiations and the Executive Director of the Bureau of Trade in Goods Department of Trade Negotiations of the same Ministry. With more than 20 years of professional experience within the Ministry of Commerce, Ambassador Kangvalkulkij has become the first Thai ever to be appointed as the new chair of the Dispute Settlement Body (DSB) of the WTO. Dr. Jaya Krishnakumar is a full professor of Econometrics at the University of Geneva, Switzerland. Her research interests include panel data econometrics, multivariate models, and quantitative methods for multi-dimensional well-being analysis. She has publications in international econometrics/economics journals such as Econometric Theory, Journal of Econometrics, Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, Computational Statistics and Data Analysis, Journal of Public Economics, European Economic Review, Health Economics, Review of Income and Wealth, Social Indicators Research, World Development, Journal of Human Development and Capabilities.

She is both an editor and an author of chapters in Econometrics books in collections such as Lecture Notes in Economics and Mathematical Systems (Springer), Contributions to Economic Analysis (Elsevier) and Advanced Studies in Theoretical and Applied Econometrics (Kluwer Academic, Springer). She has also contributed chapters in the Handbook of the Capability Approach (Cambridge University Press, CUP), New Frontiers of the Capability Approach (CUP) and Research in Social Science and Disability (Emerald Publishing). She is a Fellow of the Human Development and Capability Association, an associate editor of the International Journal of Public Health, the Journal of Human Development and Capabilities, a referee for several top journals, a leader of various research projects with external funding, and a regular external expert for evaluating grant proposals.

She is also a member of the Statistical Advisory Panel for the Human Development Reports of the UNDP, the Human Development Report Advisory Panel 2017, the academic experts panel for World Bank’s Women, Business and The Law Index 2019, the International Scientific Committee of COSA (Committee on Sustainability Assessment), as well as an Advisor for the SDG Platform being developed by B-Lab along with the UN Global Compact.

Aarathi Krishnan specialises in humanitarian futures and strategic foresight, and is the Global Futures and Foresight Coordinator with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC), as well as a Futures Fellow with IARAN. She has a background in development program management and policy, and spent a lot of her early development career working across Africa and Asia.

Her work focuses on reimagining futures for the humanitarian system and on strategic organisational transformation for humanitarian organisations. She is currently co-leading the Global Strategy 2030 for the Red Cross and Red Crescent, a futures focused strategy aimed at transforming the Red Cross and Red Crescent network.

She is particularly interested in the intersections of new forms of power, values and new humanitarianisms. Her practice covers both training, research, horizon scanning and experiential futures, with a specific lens on decolonised and feminist futures.

Zamaswazi Dlamini-Mandela is the granddaughter of Nelson and Winnie Mandela.She is the daughter of Zenani Mandela, Ambassador to Mauritius. Swati co-authored the autobiography 491 Days with the Nelson Mandela Foundation about her grandmother published by McMillan Publishing Company.Swati is co-producing, with Mandy Jacobson, an authorized documentary about the life of Winnie Mandela for release in 2019 with the Ichikowitz Family Foundation’s African Oral History Archive.

She recently participated in the publishing of The Prison Letters of Nelson Mandela in which she wrote the forward.

Swati is the Founding Partner and Shareholder of Qunu Workforce, South Africa’s leading consultancy creating equality in the workforce for those living with disabilities.She served as a spokesperson for 21 Icons - a visual celebration of South Africa’s most iconic people capturing human achievement through photography, film and narratives.

She is a co founder of the Long Walk to Freedom Brand, a non-profit that delivers container libraries to disadvantaged communities in South Africa. A business developer, public speaker, she launched her luxury fashion range, Swati by Roi Kaskara, in 2017.

Brigitte Mantilleri is Director of Equality Service at University of Geneva. After a Magister Artium at University of Hambourg followed by journeys in Latin America and in Paris, she became a PR journalist and press (with Focus Femmes, social and international) before leading the Communication Service at Geneva State Chancellerie. She has published several articles and two books with L’Age d’Homme about Noel Constant who is helping homeless.

Brigitte Mantilleri est directrice du Service égalité de l’Université de Genève. One of the top lawyers at the World Trade Organization (WTO), Gabrielle Marceau, born in 1960, Associate Professor at Geneva University Law School, also is a prolific scholar, with two books and over 50 articles and essays in the fields of WTO law and international economic law, including the revered Antidumping and Antitrust Issues in Free-Trade Areas, published with Oxford University Press and reprinted three times so far. She was one of the four Counsellors to the Cabinet of Pascal Lamy, Director-General of the WTO, from 2005 to 2009, and is now back as a senior counsellor in the Legal Affairs Division of the WTO, where she worked for ten years before joining the Office of the previous Director General.

Gabrielle Marceau is Associate Professor at the University of Geneva and has also taught in multiple institutions including WTI, University of Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne), Monash Law School and the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies. President of the Society of International Economic Law and a member of several working groups of the International Law Association, Professor Marceau holds a Ph.D. from University of London, an LL.M. from the London School of Economics and LL.B. from the University of Sherbrooke. Her career profile has been the subject of an extensive presentation in the journal International Law FORUM du droit international.

Her fast-political rise has now become concrete through her parliamentary position in the National Council, where she is the youngest elected. Since 2015, she represents the Green Party and is committed to the defense of the environment and biodiversity in Switzerland.

Barbara is the founding director of InZone, a research center housed at the University of Geneva’s Global Studies Institute. She has overall responsibility for pursuing InZone’s vision and mission, designing and implementing research projects, initiating new Higher Education in Emergencies programs, spearheading pedagogical innovation and relations with InZone’s partners and donors, and strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration between InZone and other faculties at the University of Geneva.

Christelle Rigual is a Post-doctoral Researcher and Research Coordinator at the Gender Centre, Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland, where she leads the implementation of the r4d/SNSF project ‘The Gender Dimensions of Social Conflict, Armed Violence and Peacebuilding.’ Her research pertains to the global governance of security, with interests in the global framework regulating the use of force as well as the dynamics between gender, conflict, politico-religious extremism, and peacebuilding. Drawing upon her research findings, she has published in Peacebuilding and co-authored chapters in Cambridge University Press edited volumes. She lectures on international relations, international security, as well as ‘Gender in International Action’ in higher education institutions. She holds a PhD in International Relations/Political Science from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva.

Dr. Katia Vladimirova is an international researcher working on sustainable development politics and ethics. She holds a Masters in global studies from the London School of Economics and a double PhD in political theory and political science from universities LUISS Guido Carli (Rome) and ULB (Brussels). Katia Vladimirova is broadly interested in the challenges of a large-scale societal transformation towards sustainability and the mechanisms behind social change towards sustainable consumption. Currently her interdisciplinary research agenda focuses on alternative fashion consumption models in the context of circular economy in Europe.

Simonetta Zarrilli is the chief of the Trade, Gender and Development Programme of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the organization's Gender Focal Point. Under her guidance, the programme provides analytical and policy support to UNCTAD member countries on the gender implications of trade policy, and trains academics, policymakers and civil society representatives on trade, gender and development issues. She was assigned to lead UNCTAD's work on trade and gender in 2010. An experienced trade analyst with a long and successful career at the UN, Simonetta has worked on many trade issues, including preferential schemes, health, environment and energy services, trade and biotechnology and renewable energies. She has carried out numerous analytical, intergovernmental and technical cooperation activities on these issues, and has authored and coordinated many publications, including country and regional studies, official UN documents, articles for academic journals and commentaries.

Ms. Zarrilli holds a postgraduate degree in European Studies from the College of Europe, Bruges (Belgium) and a degree in Law from the University of Siena (Italy). She is fluent in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese, apart from her native Italian.
